IGP, Adamu Orders Probe of D’Banj Over Seyitan’s Rape Accusation
Popular Afro singer, Dapo Oyebanjo aka D’Banj has been ordered to be probed by the Inspector General of The Nigerian Police Force, Mohammed Adamu.
The IG of Police has ordered that an investigation be carried out into the allegations rape accusation surrounding the singer.
The letter by the IG which was signed by his Principal Staff Officer, DCP Idowu Owohunwa was addressed to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Investigation Department, Area 10, Garki Abuja.
The IG responded to a petition by one Mr. Tommy Ojoge-Daniel, who is said to be the Counsel to Miss Seyitan Babatayo, who claims to be raped by the singer in December 2018 at a Lagos hotel.
The IG’s letter read in part, “I forward herewith copy of letter dated June 5, 2020 received from Ojoge, Omileye and Partners on the above underlined subject. I am to respectfully convey the directive of the Inspector-General of Police that you treat. Accept the assurances of my esteemed regards please.”
Recall that a few weeks ago, D’banj was accused of raping Miss Seyitan? He denied the accusations and demanded for an apology and a hundred million for damage. It was also learnt that the singer illegally arrested the victim with the help of the Nigerian Police force.
It was later “rumoured” that D’banj had the lady kidnapped by his management team and threatened her in withdrawing the accusations.
Posts were made from the girl’s account denying never saying anything of such. For these acts, a lot of people have come out in support for Seyitan while admitting that the singer committed the alleged crime.
As at today, June 20th, the singer is rumoured to have lost his endorsement worth millions with Heritage Bank.
Now we await as the IG has ordered immediate investigations into the case.
