Popular afrobeat legend, Innocent Ujah Idibia, formerly called tuface Idibia, Now 2baba has been appointed as a regional goodwill ambassador to United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees (UNHCR).

According to an official statement by UNHCR on Tuesday, the singer becomes the first Nigerian to be appointed as a goodwill ambassador.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees [UNHCR] is a United Nations agency with the mandate to protect refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people, and assist in their voluntary repatriation, local integration or resettlement to a third country”

The singer took to his his Instagram to celebrate and announce the good news;

He wrote:

Honoured and humbled by my appointment as regional goodwill ambassador of UNHCR. Thanks for the recognition. This will no doubt deepen my commitment to supporting the effort of UNHCR personnel and volunteers who are on ground every day, working hard to provide support and hope to millions of forcefully displaced persons across the world. Special thanks to donors and supporters of the cause. Blessings one and all.”
