Over the years, Davido has continued to make hits and his influence has spread across continents. The singer has 2 daughters and a son ( Imade, Hailey and David Jnr) respectively. Davido is recorded to be one of Africa’s most influential artistes, and these 5 reasons highlight how he has come this far.

Dedication

Davido has proven time without count that his dedication to his career is second to none. In 2018, the singer shared during his interview with “The Breakfast Club” the challenges he faced at the beginning of his career despite his wealthy family background. He also shared his father’s initial displeasure of his choice of career. Well, look who’s dad is proud now?

Focus

Everyone can relate to how much distraction comes with some little bit of popularity, how much more the fame the singer sits in. Peruzzi once shared how he was shocked to find out how hard Davido works and the hours he spends in the studio, like an upcoming artiste. Also, in the past few years, he has had a rocky love life that has led to having 3 baby mamas, the most recent is his split from his Ex-Fiancee, Chioma Rowland with whom he had his son David Jnr but none of these seem to have affected his career.

Jovial

Davido is one Nigerian artiste with quite a number of international collaborations, this can be linked to his ability to create and sustain these work relationships. This has also earned him a massive fan base not just in Nigeria, but so many other countries as a result of his jovial nature.

Discipline

Sometimes a good result can happen without being planned, however, it takes discipline to replicate success several times. Making good music involves a great deal of discipline, to invest time and focus. For him to consistently make so many hits, we have to applaud his discipline.

Family Privileges

Despite how hardworking we know Davido is, we still recognize the Adeleke family influence. However his dad wasn’t in support of his career initially, they eventually met halfway and everyone knows that the key to some doors is money. This doesn’t mean in any way that his family wealth is the reason for his success, but it sure has played a good role.

Finally, rating Davido’s 10year journey in the Nigerian music industry, everyone would agree that he deserves many accolades for the many hit songs, performances and his 3 studio albums. The first “Omo Baba Olowo” featured “Dami Duro”, The second album “A Good Time” featured “Fall”, “Blow my mind”, “Assurance”, “D&G”, “Sweet in the middle”, The third album “A Better Time” featured “So Crazy” “Fem”, “Jowo” and others.

He has worked with international acts like Popcaan, Nicki Minaj, Wale, Chris Brown and many others, and has bagged more than 20 local and international awards, including MTV Europe Music Award for “Best African Act”. Davido has truly earned his accolades.
