Burna Boy Finally Resumes Hit Making Duties With “Last Last” [Review]

Burna Boy’s newest song “Last Last” is the most serious attempt at making a hit song after his Grammy Winning album “Twice as Tall” was released in 2020.

Burna Boy has been on a long holiday period after his Win at the Grammys. He has been Enjoying himself with song average tunes like Balon d’Or with Wizkid, Kilometer, and “Want it all” featuring Polo G.

The song talks about heartbreak but in a more composed and less emotional dimension. What a typical addict will fall back on as a recovery plan – Shayo and Igbo which is drinking and smoking as a form of escapism from Breakfast (Heartbreak). it doesn’t sound serious but the theme is very much valid.

The first single of his next album “Love Damini” Last last has all the ingredients of a certified hit song. it has very catchy trendy slangs like “everybody go chop breakfast” “last last” ” Igbo and Shayo”. With this, it is on its way to becoming a Tiktok and other Social media catchphrases. we are expecting it to explode on social media within the next coming days, weeks, and months.

It also has a sample off Tony Braxton’s Rnb hit “Wasn’t man enough for me” released in 2000. The smooth blend of Piano and Guitar with the bouncy Rhythmic Feel of a well harmonized Afrobeat instrumental makes the tune interesting to listen and the song looks better with the video.

Last Last isn’t the kind of song to win multiple awards but will surely have multiple streams and bang in the most popular places.
