No PVC no visits Mr P instructs his staff

Famed Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P of the music duo Psquare, instructs his staff to send away visitors without PVC from his office or home.

The 40-year-old musician disclosed this in a tweet posted on his verified Twitter page on Monday (June 6).

His tweet followed Sunday massacre of some innocent Nigerian Catholic Church goers in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria, who were brutally shot dead inside their church by unidentified gunmen.

Mr P said, in the tweet, that he had instructed his domestic staff, security, to not welcome any guest visiting him, either at his office or at his home, without a Permanent Voters Card (PVC).

He also extended the same gesture to his management team and entourage, stressing that there would be ‘no travels’ for the team without their PVCs.

He ended the tweet with this: ‘We must get it right this time and vote out bad leaders’.

In a similar development, the brutal killing in Owo has been condemned by many high-profile Nigerians, such as politicians and celebrities like Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Davido, Ruger, and Wizkid.

As elections in Nigeria are closer, many Nigerian celebrities have been educating their online followers on getting a PVC to enable them participate in the upcoming elections.

In that regard, to encourage youth participation in politics, a popular Nigerian rapper, Falz, announced a free concert taking place Saturday (June 11). The ticket to the concert is PVC, as he said.
