‘Finesse’ Singer BNXN Reveals The Reason Behind His Change Of Stage Name From ‘Buju’ To ‘BNXN’
Nigerian singer Daniel Benson, formerly known as Buju, has revealed the real reason behind his change of stage name from ‘Buju’ to ‘BNXN’.
The Afrofusion artist made the revelation Saturday, August 6, via his verified Twitter handle.
Recall that BNXN had, on February 18th, 2022, announced his change of stage name from ‘Buju’ to ‘BNXN’ (pronounced as Benson).
The singer’s management said this while officially announcing his new name on February 18th:
‘This is to officially inform the general public that Daniel Benson formerly known with the stage name “Buju” (Beauty Underneath Just Understood) will no longer be referred to as the latter. Moving forward, he is to be addressed professionally as “BNXN” pronounced simply as Benson. This name change will take effect from the 18th of February 2022’.
Following his change of name, some fans have continued to address him by his former name Buju.
BNXN has finally revealed that he owns ‘it’, while giving the real reason behind his change of stage name from ‘Buju’, with which he blew in the industry.
Tweeting through his own Twitter handle Saturday Afternoon, BNXN wrote:
‘Beauty Underneath Just Understood is what Buju means, I only decided to use my surname Benson as my artiste name to avoid losing all my work to copyrights or whatsoever. Safety first but that’s still me and I can’t blame anyone for still calling me Buju. I own it’.
