The Mile 1 Market in Port Harcourt was this morning engulfed by fire. Goods and Property worth millions of Naira were destroyed in the fire which began at about 3am Tuesday,as many traders could not salvage anything. Parts of the market was completely razed and the fire spread to nearby buildings. According to the information we got,fire servicemen were not at the scene two hours after the fire started. The Annual Port Harcourt Christmas Trade fair is holding very close to the 1 mile  market environs,though at the time of the fire, the Trade fair area were not open.No  life was reported lost in the inferno.
