FUNAAB Student Expelled For Writing An Open Letter On Facebook
The Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta Ogun State Nigeria (Funaab) has issued An expulsion letter signed by the registrar and secretary to the Senate Bola Adekola issued to Ifemosu Michael Adewale with mat no. 2016/18B for his stance on the critical state of the university.
EXPULSION LETTER
This come after an audacious open letter was written by the student addressing critical issues such as the unprecedented rise in transportation fare for students and the rather incessant and undemocratic harassment of innocent students by SARS.
In the letter, the student questioned the hike in price of transportation and preferred some palliative measures to the management. He also addressed the rather unprofessional conduct of EFCC and SARS in trying to tackle cyber crime activities on campus which has led to numerous human right violations and abuses on innocent students.
This didn’t go down well with the management headed by Professor Salako as he (the student) was quarried to respond why he shouldn’t be expelled from the institution citing defamation of Character and treason against management within 24hours which the student responded swiftly.
However, the Management were unsatisfied with his responses and decided to expel the student with an expulsion letter. This is has ultimately created outrage on social media as civil rights activists and prominent figures including Senator Shehu Sani has spoken vehemently against such injustice against a defenceless student. The student has been praised for his self less comradery and efforts to get the attention of management on those critical issues.
Do you think the management should had expelled the student?
