Every Nigerian Should Be A Manchester United Fan (Here is Why)

Odion Ighalo to ManchesterIt is an undisputable fact that Soccer is the major Unifying factor for the country that is often plagued with Tribalism, Ethnic and Religious intolerance but when football is the focus, everyone puts these differences aside to achieve a common goal.

This is the case of the news of a rather astonishing Deadline transfer switch for Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo to Manchester United Making him the first ever Nigerian to move to the club but not the first African.

Now, Manchester United and Liverpool are regarded as the biggest teams in England, and also among the biggest in world football but no Nigerian has been able to make such Switches to any of these prestigious sides, Leaving our fellow African brothers( Salah and Mane) to take the shine and Monopoly of Awards with Nigeria left behind.

Therefore, a Nigerian making a switch to any of these clubs is a huge achievement because it doesn’t only just gives you respect as a player but also the country you are Representing.

You can recall that Odion Ighalo did Exceptionally well in the African Scene between 2018-2019 becoming the highest goal scorer in the Qualifiers enroute the AFCON and also the Tournament proper but all of this impressive records were eclipsed by the fact that he was playing in a less prestigious Chinese league.

He clearly deserved to be nominated in the African Top 4 at least but he wasn’t even considered at all. It is time for all Nigerians to support Ighalo in Manchester United as though we are Supporting The Super Eagles in a Major Tournament.

This will boost the morale and confidence of the player instead of the death threats he and his family received from Nigerians during the World Cup fallout that forced him to retire early.
