As We celebrate one of Nigeria’s Highly decorated Artiste at age 40 oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo A.K.A D’banj, the “Koko Master”, “Bangalee”, “African Michael Jackson” today. We will take a look a some of his best songs spanning more than a decade of active artistry. Still one of the most successful and decorated artiste to come out of Nigeria. 5. Suddenly

This song has to be among some of his best collections ever, “suddenly” was released under his best album to date – “The Entertainer” album. The song had a very addictive and danceable beat that made it a club banger.

4. Mo ogbono Feli Feli

This song was one of the best songs of the year 2008. It was a single of his best selling hits studded “Entertainer” album.

The song also Had an amazing video as well. It won the award as The Best Afropop Video At The Nigeria Music Video Award in 2008. The song was produced by the then hottest producer in Nigera – Don Jazzy. The is one of the hits that made his union with Don Jazzy memorable.

3. On Top Of The World

People said after D’banj signed for G.O.O.D music he didn’t have much talent left in his arsenal to continue churning out hits but this was one song that proved his critics wrong. The song had strong lyrics and message as well as a perfectly blended instrumental.

The song was successful commercially as it became the official anthem of Supersport’s 2013 African Cup Of Nations which was incidentally won by the Super Eagles of Nigeria. He went on to perform the song at the AFCON Final ceremony, between Nigeria and Burkina Faso. The song left very fund memories of our last victorious Afcon.

The song is the first single to be released through Sony Music’s RCA Africa label and DB Records since D’Banj signed his multi-album deal with Sony Music Entertainment Africa.

2. Oliver Twist

The song was his first single after the official announcement of his contract with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D music. In the song he explain how insatiable with women he is and went to mention their names such as Nicki Minaj, Beyonce as well as nollywood stars Genevieve, Nadia Buhari and Omotola. The song had very powerful and butt shaking elements that became addicted and put D’banj on the map internationally.

The song is regarded as his biggest song Commercially. Oliver Twist” made its first chart appearance on the chart week dated 26 May 2012—where it debuted at number nine on the UK Singles Chart; as the second highest new entry after The Saturdays “30 Days” (#7).The track also debuted at number two on the UK R&B Chart for the same charting week. “Oliver Twist” spent only one week inside the UK top 10, falling four places to number thirteen on its second charting week—and as of the week dated 20 August has spent thirteen consecutive weeks inside the top 75.

1 Fall In Love

This is one of the songs that made the ladies Fall in love” with the koko master D’banj. It came at a time when he was in a suspected romance with multi-award winning movie star Genevieve Nnaji. The song also had cameo vocals of the actress on the song. It sparked public attention when the music video came out and she was featured as the guest appearance on the video in a romantic setting. This is his fans favourite as they appreciated his love for the movie star. The song was a love ballad at that time for couples.

D’banj is regarded as the king of contemporary afrobeat sound and it’s global acceptance in the international scene. He is one of the artistes who has won in every major award nominated. He is among the few real Entertainers we’ve had.
