Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Goes Into Isolation As Daughter Is Confirmed Covid-19 Positive
The Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has announced that he will be going into isolation for days as one his daughter is tested positive for Coronavirus.
Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta state has announced to Deltans and Nigerians as a whole that he will be going into isolation with his daughter for the next two weeks.
He made the announcement via his verified twitter handle on the 26th of June saying that his decision is according to laid down procedures of health officials.
His tweet read “Earlier today, Edith and I received the news that one of our daughters has tested positive for #COVID19. Hence, in-line with the laid out procedures, we are both going into isolation for the next 14-days.
We will continue to keep you all updated.”

In a statement by the Spokesperson to the governor, Olisa Ifeajika, he confirmed the incident while also announcing that the all members of the first family of the state will go into a compulsory isolation.
“It is again pertinent to stress that COVID-19 is real, and citizens are advised to be disciplined and comply with the protocols of wearing Face Masks and maintaining physical-distancing while in public places as well as basic hygiene of hand-washing with soap in running water and use of alcohol-based sanitizers as NCDC regulation demands,” Olisa said.
According to the NCDC, the state is among the highest in the country with a number little above 700 cases so far.
