Just Barely A Day, Wizkid's New Song, 'Smile', is Already Trending Worldwide. See Figures

Wizkid – Smile ft H.E.R

It was really interesting to see Wizkid bring back nostalgic feelings of reggae fusion a genre that has been on the decline lately on the song “Smile”

The song which is the first single of his “Made In Lagos” album, the song certainly wasn’t made of Just Lagos as it took us memory lane to the golden generation of reggae fusion that had the likes of Cocoa Tea, Maxi priest, shabba ranks, Mad cobra, Richie Stephens just to mention a few by simply listening, you can feel that aura of nostaligia of the 90’s.

The song in particular shares a bit of similarity with cocoa Tea’s 1999 hit “She’s my baby”.

The P2J produced tune features American singer and songwriter H.E.R that added her vocal ingridient for a smooth midnight serenade.

The song is certainly not a perfect song but an encouraging attempt to infuse reggae fusion into his melody as he has previously done with “Nothing but joy” and “Jah Bless” in the past.
