“We Used Over Half A Billion To Feed School Children During The LockDown” – FG
The federal government of Nigeria has come up to say that over N500 million naira was spent during the imposed lockdown to feed school children.
This was revealed by the minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq.
In a statement, the minister noted that it was important to let Nigerians know as a result of the speculations on how funds were disbursed.
It said that the sum of N4,200 was shared per family with a total of 124,589 households which led to the sum of N523,273,800.
Sadiya revealed that this instruction was carried out in line with President Buhari’s directive while assuming a family to have only 3 children.
She also revealed that Abuja, Ogun and Lagos were covered in the feeding programme that occurred within the period of May 14th to July 6th.
