Rema Gives A New Label To His Music, Calls It Afrorave

Mavin Records star Rema has announced that henceforth, his sound should be referred to as Afrowave. The singer made this announcement via his official page adding that his album seals claim this for good.

First off, What is Afrorave?
Afrorave is a sub genre of Afrobeats. According to South African singer Toya Delazy while talking to unlabelled magazine in April, “AfroRave is an African alternative music genre created from a fusion of left field bass/techno, drum and bass and vernacular rap”.

From the look of things, one can tell that this genre of music (Afrorave) hasn’t really been tapped into. Now our “Commando” Rema distinguishes his sound from what everyone seems to be doing.

Some fans have come out to say that Rema hasn’t forgiven Nigerians for labelling his sound as “Indian” and making jest of his music when he released his song “Dumiebi”.
