Checkout Artistes Who Changed Their Stage Name And Why They Did So
Following the announcement that Daniel Benson has changed his stage name from Buju to BNXN, we want to go back to memory lane and check other Nigerian artistes who changed their stage name at a point in their career and why they did so.
1. 2Baba
The first artistes that comes to mind is Innocent Idibia, the legendary musician at a point in his long successful career who changed his stage name from 2face to 2Baba on the 14th of January 2016. According to him, he changed his name because of his growth as an individual.
2. Kizz Daniel
The second artistes on the list is Oluwatobiloba Daniel Andugbe, professionally known as Kizz Daniel. It should be remembered that many of Kizz Daniel hit songs were recorded with the stage name Kiss Daniel. However, after the court case with his former record label, Andugbe Daniel decided to change his stage name from Kiss Daniel to Kizz Daniel.
3. Ladipoe
The third artiste is Ladipoe. When he was signed to Mavin, Ladipo Esho stage name was Poe but he had to change the stage name to Ladipoe because someone else was already using the name.
There are unconfirmed reports that Buju is changing his name because there is someone called Buju Banton. However, we do not care, whatever name he changes to, we will always support and stream his music.
