7 Famous Celebrities Who Reacted To Wizkid Losing Grammy Awards

Published

on

Wizkid lost both awards he was nominated for at the recently held 64th Grammys on Sunday night. He lost Best Global Music Album to Angélique Kidjo and Best Global Music Performance to Arooj Aftab.

Following the Nigerian star’s untoward Grammy Awards outcome, tons of celebrities from different parts of the world have reacted to the unfavorable results.

In this article, we did our best to compile 7 out of those reactions.

Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell is a popular British model, actress, and businesswoman. She has a good relationship with Wizkid whom she often calls her brother. (They once walked a Dolce & Gabbana fashion show together in 2018.) “To my brother @wizkidayo, Made In Lagos was beyond a phenomenal album! Naomi Campbell wrote on Instagram. You’re the King of the people who have brought Afrobeats mainstream, that means more than any academy of any sort.”

Wale

Popular Nigerian-British rapper Wale also took to his Twitter handle to underscore his opinion about Wizkid not winning a Grammy award. “Essence should have multiple Grammys,” Wake tweeted.

Bankulli

Grammy-nominated music producer Bankulli, a close associate of American rapper Kanye West, also supported Wizkid on Twitter. He equally encouraged the singer with these motivational words: “Sometimes life doesn’t give what we want, not because we don’t deserve it, but because we deserve more life (sic).”

Tarynx

A foreign DJ and singer, Tarynx, on Twitter, wrote “Wizkid and Tems were also robbed.”

Stonebwoy

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, also known as 1GAD, told Wizkid via a tweet that he’s a big artiste, whether he won or not.

CDQ

Nigerian rapper CDQ threw a shade at Grammys after Wizkid lost. In a tweet, the rapper said the Grammys would come back to beg Wizkid with their award.

Simi

Nigerian singer Simi, when a Twitter user tweeted that Wizkid didn’t care about winning the awards, replied that she had wanted Wizkid to win.

There are more celebrities who have reacted that we didn’t mention. Therefore, the list above is not exhaustive.
