Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, revealed why he let his former artist Wizkid leave EME despite their contract.

In a trending video on Twitter, Banky W disclosed that the agreement between Wizkid and EME was breached.

He made the statement during an interview with Ebuka.

He said that Wizkid was supposed to release 5 albums under the label, but he released only 2 at the time he left the label in 2014.

When asked why he let him go and did not take any legal actions, he said that he believed people should be allowed to grow and shouldn’t be held back while chasing their dream.

‘Wizkid wanted to leave and for me, that was enough. I don’t want anybody to stay where they don’t want to be’, said Banky W.
