Nigerian global music sensation Ckay has revealed to fans the inspiration he got from Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy.
The global sensation made the revelation in a Twitter post Wednesday (August 24). In the post, Ckay showed how he got inspirations from all of his seniors, Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid.
However, the inspiration he claimed to have gotten from Burna Boy has become a topic of discourse among netizens.
The ‘Love Nwantiti’ crooner claimed he was shown that ‘delay is not denial’ by Burna Boy.
There might be some hidden meaning in Ckay‘s words. For one, Burna Boy, who started music in 2012, only became a mainstream artist from 2018, when he released the chart-topper single ‘Ye’.
Secondly, Burna Boy won his first Grammy award in 2021, after he had lost the same award to Angelique Kidjo a year earlier.
Hence, Ckay’s tweet about Burna Boy might be referring to either, or both, of the two statements above.
