‘Calm Down’ Breaks Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ Record On Billboard Hot 100
‘Calm Down’ has broken Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ record as the highest charting African song of all time on Billboard Hot 100.
‘Calm Down’, the viral hit song by Nigerian singer Rema and Selena Gomez, has peaked in the Top 10 of the popular US music chart, Billboard Hot 100 this week.
This was made known by Chart Data on Tuesday via Twitter.
The song, which was at 19 last week, currently sits at number 8 on the chart, thus becoming the first Nigerian song to peak that high on the chart.
It surpassed Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ (featuring Tems and Justin Bieber), which peaked at 9 in 2021, for highest charting Nigerian/African song of all time on Billboard Hot 100.
Congratulations to Rema as ‘Calm Down’ breaks Wizkid’s Essence record on Billboard Hot 100!
