‘Afrobeats Songs Lack Lyricism’ – Dancehall Veteran, Bounty Killer Shades Afrobeats & Burna Boy
Dancehall veteran Bounty Killer takes a swipe at Afrobeats for its lyricism, using Burna Boy’s ‘Ye’ as an example.
Rodney Basil Price, better known as Bounty Killer, has claimed that Afrobeats songs lack in-depth lyrics. He said this in an interview.
A video going round on Twitter shows Bounty Killer, a legendary Jamaican singer, explaining how Afrobeats artists, like Burna Boy, rely heavily on melody and pay little attention to their lyrics.
He uses Burna Boy’s Platinum-certified song ‘Ye’ as an example, concluding that all Afrobeats songs lack lyricism.

Its not easy to be a Grammy award winner . It comes with haters from everwhere. He’s just bitter because his career is over and he never even came close to wherever burna boy and other afrobeat musician are now.
