‘Only A Brainless Person Will Undermine My Contribution To Afrobeats’ – Iyanya Fights Dirty With Twitter Critic
Nigerian artist Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, known by his stage name Iyanya, has slammed a Twitter critic for undermining his contribution to Afrobeats.
In a recent event, music executive Ubi Franklin, who is also the co-owner of Iyanya’s record label, Made Men Music, gave a shout-out to a few Nigerian artists who took Afrobeats genre international.
In his shout-out, Ubi name-dropped Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Rema, and Iyanya and applauded their contributions to making Afrobeats a global genre.
However, a Twitter critic by the name of Otunba made a mockery of Iyanya, tweeting ‘Ubi Franklin gave shout out to Davido, Wizkid, Rema and Burna Boy for what they’re doing to Afrobeats internationally and he mentioned Iyanya too 😭’.
Iyanya somehow saw the tweet and reacted that the critic is clueless and that it’s only a brainless person that would try to undermine his contribution to Afrobeats.
He wrote, ‘And who are you again? Only a brainless person will try to undermine my contribution to this game till date.You definitely are clueless’.
Having seen his reply, the Twitter critic fired another shot at Iyanya, saying ‘What’s your international contribution to Afrobeats? Using Florence for clout? Mumu’.
