How Wizkid Paved Way For Young Nigerian Artists – Singer Joeboy
Nigerian artist Joeboy has revealed how Afrobeats megastar Wizkid paved the way for young Nigerian artists to believe they can be young and successful.
He said this in a podcast, featuring fellow Nigerian singer Odumodublvck, which was recently shared on Twitter.
According to him, Wizkid’s inspiring success as a young artist motivated a lot of other young Nigerian artists to pursue their dreams of becoming a successful artist in their young age.
Joeboy also noted that he knew he was going to be popular the day he met Wizkid while he was following Mr Eazi everywhere as a mentee. He recalled Wizkid summoning him and speaking to him that day.
He added that before Wizkid became famous in year 2010, when he was only 20 years old, Nigerian artists in the limelight then were those who became famous at older age.
Odumodublvck, with whom Joeboy was speaking, also affirmed that Wizkid inspired young artists, saying βWizkid is powerfulβ.
