Wizkid Bags iHeartRadio Titanium Award For ‘Essence’ Reaching One Billion Spins
Afrobeats star Wizkid has received a titanium award for his hit song ‘Essence’ reaching one billion spins on iHeartRadio stations.
It was made known by iHeartRadio via their official Twitter page on Tuesday (June 20) that ‘Essence’ by Wizkid (featuring Tems) had reached a milestone of one billion spins.
Wizkid also set a new record with the outstanding achievement, becoming the first Afrobeats artist to win the iHeartRadio Titanium Award.
The iHeartRadio Titanium Award celebrates artists who have reached a threshold of one billion total audience spins across iHeartRadio stations of their hit song in 2022.
The total audience spins calculation is based on certified Mediabase airplay and is multiplied by the number of persons listening to the radio at the time of those plays, delivering total audience impressions which is the broadcast equivalent of the number of streams from a streaming music service.
