Wizkid Bags BRIT Award For Surpassing One Billion Streams In UK (Photo)

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Wizkid has accomplished a new feat as he just received a BRIT award for hitting one billion streams in the United Kingdom (UK).

The Afrobeats megastar, while in London after his recently successful sold-out show at Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium on Saturday (July 29), received his BRIT award in person.

Wizkid was presented the ‘BRIT Billion Award’ in recognition of his hitting a milestone of one billion career streams in the UK, which hadn’t been accomplished by any other African act in history.

The BRIT Awards made the proclamation through their official page on Twitter on Monday (July 31), with a picture of Wizkid posing with the award.

It’s a huge achievement for the ‘Essence’ singer, for the award means his music has a significant impact and a good amount of reach (one billion streams!) in the UK.

The statement read: ‘It’s one billion UK streams for @wizkidayo, who was presented with his BRIT Billion Award while in London for his incredible show at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’.
