‘Burna Boy Is An Amazing Performer’ – Don Jazzy As He Takes Swipe At Afrobeats Artists Splashing Water On Fans
Mavin Records’ Chief Executive Officer, Don Jazzy has hailed Afrobeats singer Burna Boy as an amazing performer and called out the act of splashing water on fans done by other artists.
The producer, whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, mentions this while on Nigerian music journalist Motolani Alake’s podcast, recalling a great performance of The Weeknd, a famous Canadian singer, he watched.
In the video shared on Twitter (Aug. 7), Don Jazzy, not leaving out artists under his own label, notes that Afrobeats artists are fond of splashing water on fans during performances. He adds that it was not the case at a The Weeknd show he saw.
He then commends Burna Boy as exceptional: ‘Burna Boy is an amazing performer’, and finally says Afrobeats artists need to put extra work into honing their performance skills.
