I Don’t Write My Songs – Shallipopi
Fast-rising Nigerian artist Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has said he doesn’t write his songs.
Speaking in an interview on Cool FM Lagos, Shallipopi, who came into limelight with the street-hop single ‘Elon Musk’, describes his approach to making music as freestyling.
He reveals that he freestyles all of his songs, including the ones on his EP, Planet Pluto, that dropped 10 July 2023. He further states that he spent only 2 hours in making the EP.
When the OAP asks if he considers it stressful to write songs, he explains that he intentionally freestyles so the music would sound raw and not ‘too professional’.
‘If I write it, it will be too professional and too strict’, he said. ‘It is supposed to be vibes and cruise’.
