Burna Boy Pens Heartfelt Message To His UK Fans As ‘I Told Them’ Becomes No. 1 Album In UK
Burna Boy has sent a message of appreciation to his UK fans for taking his new album ‘I Told Them’ to number one on the UK’s Official Charts, making him the first Afrobeats artist to achieve the feat.
‘To all my UK people who have taken this album to #1. I will never stop thanking you. You have made another one of my most impossible dreams come true,’ Burna Boy stated.
The Grammy award-winning singer set a new record yesterday (September 1) as his album ‘I Told Them’, released August 25, became the first-ever album by an Afrobeats act to debut at number one in the history of the UK’s Official Charts.
In the headline of its article published Friday, the Official Charts wrote, ‘Sittin’ on Top of the World! Burna Boy becomes first global Afrobeats star to secure UK Number 1 album with I Told Them.’
Taking to his Instagram story Saturday, September 2, Burna Boy (real name Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu) acknowledged the efforts of his fans in the UK, in making the number one debut possible, describing the record as another one of his most impossible dreams come true.
He further stated that as a means to show his gratitude to the fans, he would be going to different parts of the country this week to sign as many albums as possible.
