The month of August is filled with a lot of hit sons from Nigerian artistes, Burna Boy, Davido, Tekno and a host of top A artistes released smashing hit, this is our top 10 Nigerian songs of August 2023.
10. Tekno – Pocket
Pocket by Tekno seems like a song that is strictly make for club DJs as it is filled with the essential lyrics that will make people spend money whenever they are in the club. A very solid sound with heavy bass, this is a song made for the ballers.
9. Teni – Lanke
Following the new debacles on different types of Afrobeat or Afro-Fusion that many artistes are coming up with, Teni in a bid to reignite the culture calls her own Afro-everything and a deep listen to the song, it reeks of class and poise.
8. Pheelz ft Young Jonn – Jelo
The two artistes Pheelz and Young Jonn were introduced to the entertainment by Olamide through producing the beat for his songs in YBNL record label. Now, both are singer; having hit songs rocking the club and airwaves.
7. Johnny Drille – Spending
The song, ‘Spending’, is about a lover vouching to do everything for his partner, including bestowing material things upon her, to show how he truly feels. Don Jazzy excellently harmonizes with and backs up Jonny Drille, alongside his production duties.
6. Ruger ft Stefflon Don – Addiction
The song is off Ruger’s debut album and the introduction of Steflon Don shows the versatility and talent of Ruger. Far from not being perfect; everything this song speaks is of class and the lyrics shows passion and sweetness.
5. Reminisce ft Oxlade – Why
The song is a typical Oxlade beat and from the beat and the chorus that he spit on it, it is evident why Reminisce decided to feature him.
4. Magixx – Maria
‘Maria’ follows Magixx’s previous efforts on his single ‘Color’; on it, he sings about how he has never seen a girl like her [Maria] before.
