Burna Boy Makes History For Most Charting Albums On US Billboard 200 Among Nigerian Artists
Nigerian music megastar Burna Boy has broken a record for the most charting albums ever on the US Billboard 200 among Nigerian artists.
Yesterday, September 5, 2023, Burna Boy’s latest album ‘I Told Them’ debuted at number 31 on the Americans’ Billboard 200 chart, which weekly ranks the 200 best performing albums in America.
The Grammy-winning superstar, presently having a total number of four albums debuted, is the first (and currently the only) Nigerian artist to achieve this milestone in history.
All the four albums by Burna Boy that have debuted on the Billboard 200 are ‘African Giant’ in 2019; ‘Twice As Tall’ in 2020; ‘Love, Damini’ in 2022; ‘I Told Them’ in 2023.

With ‘I Told Them’, Burna Boy continues to break or set records. Last week, the album became the first Afrobeats album to reach number one in the history of UK official charts.
In a message to his UK fans, posted on his Instagram story, he thanked the fans for giving their support to the project, saying, ‘You’ve made another one of my most impossible dreams come true’.
