I Have No Hand In The Death Of Mohbad – Naira Marley Releases Official Statement
Marlian Music’s owner and singer Naira Marley has said in an official statement that he has nothing to do with the untimely death of his ex-signee Mohbad.
In an official statement released today (September 26), Naira Marley claimed non-involvement in the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who passed away September 12.
Following his demise, a video circulated on social media, of Mohbad being bullied at a music video shoot (for rapper Zlatan, who spontaneously blocked the attack coming behind Mohbad) by some men led by a Marley’s associate called Sam Larry.
Mohbad had also stated in a video (long before his demise) that Naira Marley should be held accountable should anything happen to him.
According to the statement released by Marley via Instagram, he said that although they had a friction, he is not responsible for Mohbad’s death ‘either directly or indirectly’.
He said: ‘In the last few days, there has been a lot of onslaught on my person and reputation globally over the death of my former signee. All manner of stories has been woven against me in respect of his untimely death… Permit me to categorically state that I have no hand in the death of Ilerioluwa, either directly or indirectly. It is not unusual in the industry, just like in several other industries to have family friction, even amongst blood relatives’.
