Burna Boy Tops Apple Music’s Most Streamed Nigerian Artists Of All-time [See Full List]
Grammy-winning Afrobeats singer Burna Boy is the most streamed Nigerian artist of all-time on Apple Music, according to the platform’s latest list.
One of world’s biggest digital streaming platforms, Apple Music just released its list of the top five most streamed Nigerian artists on the platform––with Burna Boy leading.
The ‘Last Last’ hitmaker, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, emerged the all-time most streamed Nigerian artist on Apple Music, above his other two contemporaries and members of the media-and-fans-coined ‘Big 3’, Davido and Wizkid.
See the full list below:
1. Burna Boy
With several globally certified hit songs and albums in his bag, Burna Boy is a multi-platinum selling artist who has consistently pushed his craft and genre (Afrobeats) since his championship in 2018. He is, according to Apple Music’s list, the number one most streamed Nigerian artist of all-time on Apple Music.
2. Wizkid
Wizkid is the second most streamed Nigerian artist of all-time on Apple Music. He is the man who needs no introduction, the then 26-year-old Nigerian singer who crossed over to the western music world in 2016, scoring an historical number one song (‘One Dance’) on the Billboard Hot 100, alongside Drake and Kyla. Coincidentally, Wizkid’s 2021 global song ‘Essence’ also holds a record as the most streamed African song on Apple Music.
3. Davido
A serial, consistent hitmaker, Davido takes the third position on the Apple Music’s list of the all-time most streamed Nigerian artists. He is, provably, one of this century’s best-selling African artists, with many chart-topping songs like ‘If’, ‘Fall’, ‘Unavailable’, and so on.
4. Rema
The first-ever winner of MTV VMAs’ Best Afrobeats Song, Rema has taken control of the charts worldwide since 2022 with his award-winning and record-breaking song ‘Calm Down’. The 23-year-old singer is the fourth most streamed Nigerian artist of all-time on Apple Music.
5. Asake
Asake’s career was only launched in 2022 by Olamide’s YBNL label, but today he is the all-time fifth most streamed Nigerian artist on Apple Music. His growth is notably magnificent.
