Nigerian megastars, Burna Boy and Davido have respectively submitted their works for consideration at the forthcoming 2024 Grammy Awards.
As the release of 2024 Grammy Awards nominations list draws near, musicians across the world have submitted their projects (songs, albums) for consideration, with no exclusion of Nigerian artists.
Burna Boy and Davido, the Afrobeats superstars, have each sent their works for consideration at the 2024 Grammy Awards, as detailedly shared in posts by WeTalkSound on X.
Burna Boy’s submission is as follows:
Album of the Year, Global Album – ‘I Told Them’
Record of the Year – ‘City Boys’
Song of the Year – ‘City Boys’, ‘Masculine’
African Performance – ‘City Boys’, ‘Masculine’
Melodic Rap, Rap Song – ‘Sittin’ On Top of the World’
Global Performance – ‘Alone’
On the other side, Davido’s submission is as follows:
Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album – ‘Timeless’
Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best African Music Performance – ‘Unavailable’
Best Global Music Performance – ‘Feel’
Submission of music for Grammy consideration is the first step toward possible nomination. (Not only Burna Boy and Davido, but also Asake, Rema, and other Nigerian artists, have submitted their works.)
It’s worth noting that the first round of voting for the 2024 Grammys is set to round off this Friday.
