Fireboy, Ed Sheeran’s Peru Certified Platinum In UK

Nigerian singer Fireboy DML’s single Peru, which featured British singer Ed Sheeran, has been certified platinum in the United Kingdom.

Brit Awards, which is responsible for the certification, on April 15 issued a statement on its official Twitter account.

The statement read, ‘“Peru,” the single by @fireboydml and @edsheeran, is now #BRITcertified Platinum’.

Fireboy, who also shared his platinum status on Twitter, wrote:

Before being certified platinum, Peru (remix) was certified gold by the same organization. According to Brit Awards, ‘Singles are awarded Platinum status when, based on Official Charts Company data, they achieve 600,000 units’.

In a similar development, Fireboy speaks about releasing his new album.

Shortly after his single with Ed Sheeran was certified platinum in the UK, Fireboy wrote on Twitter that he was going to drop his new album, which was already titled Playboy. ‘Now let’s drop that album’, he wrote
