Wizkid Sells out tickets to his concert in France under 1 minute

Nigerian pop star Wizkid has made another history by selling out tickets to his concert in France under 1 minute.

Wizkid, 31, has just sold out tickets to his upcoming Accor Arena’s concert in France under one minute. With this, Wizkid has repeated exactly the same thing he did at 02 Arena in London last year (2021) when he sold all three shows for his Made In Lagos tour within few minutes.

In 2021, Wizkid joined the list of few musicians who have sold out the biggest music hall in the UK, O2 Arena, within minutes. Musicians to have done so before him include Beyonce, who sold her tickets in 12 minutes, in 2014; Rihanna sold hers in 10 minutes in 2011; and Gary Barlow sold his in 6 minutes in 2014.

Wizkid made history at the 02 Arena, in 2021, where he sold out his 3 shows (80,000 tickets) in 12 minutes, 2 minutes and 35 minutes—because fans kept asking for more dates. He is the only artiste in the continent to ever achieve such.

Interestingly, he has just done the same thing in France; tickets to his upcoming concert at Accor Arena in France were unavailable just after 1 minute they were out!

What makes this even interesting is that Wizkid does not have a single French song. One time he appeared on a French song was in 2019 when he got featured on a French song titled “Bella” by French rapper MHD. Of note, Wizkid’s verse was written and sung in pure Nigerian Pidgin language.

Well, he has again proven he’s unmatchable, the biggest African Act, and one of the best selling artistes in the world.

Meanwhile, Wizkid lost, on Sunday (April 3), two Grammy awards to Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo and to Pakistani vocalist Arooj Aftab.
