How Ekiti Ex-Governor’s Brother Implicated Bobrisky Leading To His Forceful Re-arrest By EFCC

Nigerian crossdresser and social media influencer Idris Okunleye, popularly referred to as Bobrisky, has found himself in hot water once again. His latest arrest was at Lagos Airport while allegedly trying to flee to London.

The catalyst for this unexpected arrest? A seemingly innocuous Instagram post by Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose. In a now-viral photo, Fayose proudly announced his boarding of the same flight as Bobrisky, tagging him directly. This act may have inadvertently alerted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which has been closely monitoring Bobrisky amid ongoing bribery allegations.

Bobrisky was swiftly removed from the flight forcefully and detained by EFCC operatives. In a desperate plea shared on his Instagram story, he claimed, “I’m badly injured, Nigerians help me EFCC just arrested me.” My take on this is quite simple, it appears Bobrisky wasn’t too smart with his escape plan, he could have instructed Isaac Fayose not to post that photo until they were out of the country.

See how he was manhandled by the airport authorities.

The controversy surrounding Bobrisky isn’t new. A month prior, reports revealed that he had bribed EFCC officials with a staggering N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him. This claim was brought to light during a House of Representatives session where lawmakers expressed concern over corruption within Nigeria’s anti-graft agencies.

The accusations intensified after social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, leaked an audio clip purportedly featuring Bobrisky discussing the terms of the bribes.

If these investigations unfold, the implications will be severe and there’s a huge probability that he’ll serve a longer term in jail with no perks as he enjoyed earlier.
