Wizkid’s “Morayo” Shatters Records With Biggest First-Day Streams On Spotify Nigeria
Wizkid’s highly anticipated album, Morayo, is rewriting history books with jaw-dropping debut son Spotify Nigeria.
The album, dedicated to his late mother and named after her, has achieved an unprecedented milestone by amassing 12.12 million streams in its first day, the highest-ever for any album on Spotify Nigeria.
To put this incredible feat into perspective, the previous record-holder, Asake’s Lungu Boy, debuted with 5.88 million streams—a significant achievement in its own right, but less than half of Morayo‘s numbers.
This monumental accomplishment underscores Wizkid’s unmatched influence and the massive anticipation that surrounded the release.
Morayo, with its 16 expertly crafted tracks, features collaborations with industry giants like Asake on “Bad Girl,” Brent Faiyaz on “Piece of My Heart,” Jazmine Sullivan on “Bad for You,” Tiakola on “Après Minuit,” and Anaïs on “Slow.”
