What Went Wrong For The Alleged Fraudulent Man Of God, Pastor Tobi As He Is To Be Deported From The UK

Nigerian-born Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, once a celebrated figure in the UK for his flamboyant church, SPAC Nation, is facing deportation back to Nigeria after losing a high-profile legal battle.

This shocking news comes after an immigration tribunal ruled against him, citing serious allegations of financial misconduct involving over £1.87 million. The tribunal’s decision follows a thorough investigation into the church’s operations.

Authorities found that SPAC Nation had failed to account for significant outgoings and operated with a troubling lack of transparency. Various allegations from former church members painted a terrible picture, explaining that the church functioned more like a cult than a place of worship.

Reports indicated that impoverished congregants were pressured to take out loans and even sell their blood to meet financial demands.

Adegboyega, who arrived in the UK on a visitor’s visa in 2005 and overstayed, argued that deportation would breach his human rights under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), particularly his right to family life since he is married to a British woman. He claimed that his community work had positively impacted many young lives, especially within London’s Black communities. However, the tribunal dismissed his claims as exaggerated and lacking substantial evidence.

Critics have pointed out that while Adegboyega portrayed himself as a community leader, the reality was far more complicated. Last year, when Pastor Tobi celebrated his birthday with a display of luxury cars, it sparked mixed reactions. Although many Nigerians defended him with phrases like “touch not my anointed,” others saw it as a reflection of how some ministries operate more like the entertainment industry.

The tribunal noted that various manifestations of his church had been shut down due to financial concerns and alleged misconduct. Despite his legal team’s attempts to highlight his contributions and connections with prominent figures like former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, no testimonies were submitted to support his claims.
