Top Controversial Awards At The 2023 AMVCA
The 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards might have come and gone, however, such big awards like this doesn’t go without controversies. Here are the top controversial awards of the night.
1 . Best Actress In A Drama Award
Osas Ighodaro won the best actress with her role in the movie Man Of God ahead of Nse Ikpe Etim whom many believe should have won it because of her fierce and well played role in Shanty Town.
In fact, many believe the award should have gone to either Bimbo Ademoye for her role in Anikulapo or better still Nse Ikpe Etim should have been declared winner. This category caused a lot of controversies on the social media.
2. Best Actor In A Drama Award:
Tobi Bakare won the best actor in a drama for his rugged role in Brotherhood, however, many Nigerians on social media are of the opinion that the award should have gone to either Femi Adebayo for his epic movie Ageshinkole or Chidi Mokeme for his gangster role in Shanty Town.
3. Omission Of Kunle Remi :
Anikulapo which Kunle Remi was the main actor packed quite a number of awards, however the omitting Kunle Remi for all the award category is still a mystery to many as they believe he should have at least won an award.
