Popular music journalist, Motolani Alake in a podcast has send a dig at Burna Boy telling him he is not eloquent enough for the conversation he is trying to have.
It should be noted that Burna Boy says Afrobeat is a genre of music that has no substance and this has generated a lot of controversies and back and forth in the Nigeria music industry and entertainment world as a whole.
Many believe Burna Boy is only trying to be petty while others are of the opinion that the singer said the truth. However, Motolani Alake said music does not have to be conscious for it to be considered a good music.
According to Motolani Alake, Afrobeat is not a conscious music therefore the attempt to say Afrobeat is without substance is arrant nonsense and Burna Boy does not have the authority to say Afrobeat has no substance.
