Yemi Alade Fires Back At Wizkid’s Assistant Who Says She Will Never Sell Out Any Venue In Her Lifetime
Yemi Alade has reacted to a post by Godson, an assistant to Nigerian singer Wizkid, that she will never sell out any venue.
Earlier we reported that one Wizkid’s assistant blasted Yemi Alade that she would never sell out any venue in her lifetime.
The report was a quick sequence to an earlier report we gave that Nigerian pop star Wizkid sold out tickets of a section of his upcoming show at Accor Arena in France in under 1 minute.
We reported then that Godson, who serves as an assistant to Wizkid, had taken to his Instagram page to blast Nigerian female singer Yemi Alade.
“Yemi Alade with your French and Francophone songs, you will still never be able to sell out any French Arena like Wizkid in 1minute,” Godson wrote.
In a new post by Yemi Alade on her Twitter handle, she slammed Godson, and questioned his mental capacity.
“Before you argue with someone, ask yourself ‘is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of different perspectives?’ If not, there’s no point in arguing.” Yemi Alade wrote.
What could have led Godson to post such a thing on social media?
On Sunday night (April 3) Wizkid lost a Grammy award (Best Global Music Album) to Angélique Kidjo, a 64-year-old Beninese legendary singer. Although it wasn’t the only award Wizkid lost on that night, fans of the singer criticized Angélique Kidjo’s work, Mother Nature, which had won her the prestigious award ahead of Wizkid’s Made In Lagos, a double platinum-certified album.
On Twitter, Yemi Alade, who was featured on a song off Mother Nature, retweeted a tweet in which a fan of Angélique Kidjo’s music had slammed people discrediting her album. The fan wrote “Pangolo expectations” in reaction to people thinking Wizkid ought to have won the award.
That might have led to their rift and Godson perhaps saw Wizkid’s new feat as a chance to get back at Yemi Alade.
