Canadian rapper Drake has won a $1million bet he placed on Nigeria’s UFC middlebelt title champion Israel Adesanya’s fight against Jared Cannonier.
The God’s Plan hit maker, Drake won $1million bet he had placed on Adesanya that he would defeat his opponent, Cannonier, and retain his UFC belt in their July 2’s fight.
The Nigeria-born fighter ended up beating his opponent, Cannonier, and retaining his belt.
Before the fight Drake reportedly facetimed Adesanya and was heard saying, ‘Bro, I already know what time it is. You know, I put a light million up’.
When Adesanya heard the money, he responded that it was “a light mil’.
‘I had to put a light mil on my brother’, Drake continued. ‘Return on investment is a lock’.
