8 Nigerian Artistes That Should Quit MusicSome Nigerian artiste were promising initially, some has not really been inspiring but all the same lets analyse some names that fans are unsatisfied with or are calling for their retirement from a poll conducted earlier – On this post, we will taking a look at 8 Nigerian Artistes That Should Quit Music

1. Korede Bello

Signed to Don Jazzy‘s outfit Mavin Record around 2013. He came with such huge Potentials alongside Reekado Banks and Di’ja and was a star in the collaboration ‘Dorobucci’.

Since then, he has always remained a prospect which has never really met our expectations. Sometimes, He flatters to deceive with good singles like ‘Mungo Park‘,  ‘ Romantic feat Tiwa Savage and ‘Do Like That and went on to disappoint afterwards.
His personality is referred to in local parlance as “everyday young” a term used to address someone who doesn’t improve or grow despite their age.

He is to Mavin Records what Jesse Lingard is to Manchester United. We don’t seem to know whether his label isn’t giving him enough backing or he’s not just built to flourish in the ever competitive Nigerian music industry.

2. May D

Was an affiliate of Square records of the defunct Psquare where he had so much exposure and even a collaboration with Akon on ‘Chop My Money’ alongside Psquare.

Had a solid beginning but since his glory days around 2011 & 2012 he has been a shadow of himself and completely gone AWOL.

His last promising song was ‘All Over You‘ which didn’t do enough to revive his career. We are safe to say his time in the industry has gone.

3. Drammy Krane

This is one name that pops up and people wouldn’t raise an eyebrow. This dude had amazing talent with hit songs like ‘Amin‘ and ‘Faleela‘ was often seen as some rival to wizkid.

His lack of seriousness hasn’t gotten him a hit since 2015 when he did ‘Izzue‘ with Davido. And to be frank he needs to hang his boots.

4.Slimcase

This is one artiste whose success was a bit ‘Unusual’. He never had a solo hit to date. He has always been featured or will feature someone without singing. He emerged abruptly with his hype manic style with more noise, less melody and found himself involved in hits like ‘Diet‘ by DJ Enimony alongside Tiwa Savage and Reminisce. And ‘Banger‘ by D’banj And Mr. Real.

His Emergence was accompanied by the ‘Shaku Shaku’ dance in vogue then. Although, he got featured on D’banj’s  ‘Mo cover eh‘ he doesn’t seem to have enough talent left in his music arsenal to last any longer.

5. Waconzy

One of Port Hacourt’s finest stars back in the days with massive hits like ‘ I celebrate’ which by the way is a classic and a delight to listen to any day. He had other solid hits like ‘jangolover’ and ‘Amosu’.

He has since become a mere jest as he sometimes resort to preaching on his instagram handles but later posts videos of half nude women vibing to his song and his videos (laughable).

He dropped a couple of uninspiring and mediocre songs that doesn’t even deserve to be on any typical playlist. I think he should quit music and just stick to being a social media influencer the same way Tunde ednut did. With all due respect I think his time Is up.

6. Skales

This is one name majority of fans are already fed up with and are calling for his retirement off music related activities, I mean this dude was one of the biggest names in the industry when he got signed to EME with Wizkid.

He could rap and sing so well but these days you see an artiste who is fair weather, inconsistent, confused with his style. His last single ‘Ego’ is the final chance he had but was wasted, fans have lost hope in him.

7. Yung6ix

He started off with the likes of Wizkid but in reality he doesn’t have a hit song and is comfortable that way. How do you explain over 10 years in the game with nothing significant?

I don’t understand what flows he has been spiting all these years that made him ‘King of the South’. Even his fans can’t confidently mention 3 of his songs without googling. I think his time is gradually winding off.

8. Iyanya

Came into the industry like some LL cool j kinda style. Taking off his shirt at the slightest of chances to display his Madly ripped body to the delight of music fans. All of that doesn’t count anymore as musical lovers don’t think he has enough talent left.

His hit singles ‘kukere’ and ‘ Your Waist’ stood him out musically. He doesn’t seem to have age left on his side too.
