‘Blow’ and ‘Electric’ Were the only positives from a rather Lethargic Sound Man EP by Wizkid. Do you agree?
As Wizkid makes concluding plans for his 4th studio album ‘Made In Lagos’ let’s revisit his last body of work ‘Sound Man Vol.1’ that dropped few months ago. Two songs stood out fantastically in ‘Blow’ and ‘Electric‘.
The EP Soundman vol.1 had seven tracks which weren’t super outstanding but average catalog of tracks, but the songs Blow and Electric had a different kind of rhythmic flavour and sound appeal.
First, it was the Blaq Jerzee inspired tune ‘Blow‘ which is the best track off the EP. The song had an introductory wind instrumental similar to a Flute blown on the song which can almost take your breath away by just hearing. You can mistake the opening part of the song to be one of Celine Dion classics. The vocals by Wizkid and the effort by Blaq Jerzee was just enough to make a quality tune.
Another song that stood out was ‘Electric‘, the song has this cool slow tempo blues feel that can ease tension. The song is one of those songs that did well on the EP.
The remaining songs on the EP flattered to deceive. Although, they weren’t entirely cheesy but not also spectacular.
We can as well say the EP was a completely average project by his own standards. We hope he ups his Ante when his upcoming project is eventually released.
