Nobody Actually Paved Any Way For Burna Boy, Nigerians Are Hypocrites (Here Is Why)

Burna Boy Shuns Fans, Vacates Stage With Anger (SEE REACTIONS)Considering the level of backlash and internet bullying that accompanied the reactions to the statement by the African Giant Burna Boy. We can say many persons didn’t understand what he meant or are simply being hypocritical about it.

Nigerians by default have a fault sense of humility and expect you to pretend to be humble even when the situation is quite glaring and doesn’t demand such.

Without a doubt, you will agree with me that Burna boy is Nigeria’s most talented artiste as he has a plethora of styles intertwined into one. He can infuse whichever style be it Reggae fusion, Afrobeats, RnB, Hip Hop at his discretion and still satisfy fans of any genre with good melodic masterpiece.

We all saw his progression and how his sound evolved. In 2013 & 2014, when he was just breaking into the industry his style was more of Some RnB with reggae fusion with songs like ‘Don Gorgon, ‘like to party’, Tonight etc..

He got nominated in the Next Rated category of the Headies which he eventually lost to Sean Tizzle which didn’t go down well with him. He felt marginalized and decided to seek Asylum in South Africa where he felt his sound was more appreciated. He worked often with AKA and D.A.L.E.S and some others.

He came back and dropped on a spaceship album which was more AfroPop influenced but no one cared. No one reached out to save such amazing talent in Burna Boy when he was struggling at that point in his career.

He was never opportuned to be carried under the wings of any bigger name artistes like the Wizkid and others. He took the only lifeline left which is to immortalize the legendary Fela and make it a more contemporary sound which worked out because of the Legacies of the Afrobeats King.

Determined to prove the industry wrong, he went to the U.K and worked his ass out to come forth with the Remarkable ‘Outside’ album in 2017 where he got hits like the Fela influenced ‘Ye’ and reggae influenced ‘Heavens gate’ that put him back on the map and the rest today is history. He is talented and hardworking and all of these were reflected in the album when it was released.

Throughout his last two albums ‘Outside‘ and ‘African Giant’ he has only worked with one Nigerian artiste which is Zlatan in ‘killing dem’. So where exactly is the internal influence that helped him?

He worked with Drake on two occasions but unfortunately his song wasn’t in the final cut for the Views album because at time he wasn’t seen as being big enough.

This shows that Burna Boy’s Music and general style has a more western and external acceptance and not because anyone did anything to help him as an artiste. He had always been a master of his own craft. He struggled at some point in his career but it was only a matter of time before his efforts was to be seen.
