Four (4) Solid Reason Why Wizkid “Made in Lagos” Album Will Not Drop This Week

According to rumours, Wizkid should be dropping his fourth studio album “Made in Lagos” this week.

Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid is an afro beat king pin, songwriter, and performing artist signed to RCA records. The Nigerian pop star flaunts his own record label Starboy Entertainment under which he released his last mixtape “Soundman Vol. 1 Mixtape.”

Wizkid after dishing out his third project ‘Sounds From The Other Side’ in 2017 claimed he is working on a new project that could go on to be his biggest project so far. The ‘Joro’ crooner has attached a lot of hype around his ‘Made in Lagos’ album which he believes will take him to the next phase of his career. The artist who has sold out the 25,000 capacity O2 arena in London appears to be in need of more success.

Just when everyone gave up on his “Made in Lagos” album, Wizkid and his fans just can’t seem to drop it. The singer even sent vote of thanks to some artistes and producers on his instagram page. We are made to believe these are the creatives that joined him in his “Made in Lagos” album. They include; H.E.R, Damian Marley, Burna Boy, Terri, Tems, Ella Mai, Blaq Jerzee, London, Kel P, P2J, etc.

But despite the whole hype and the fact his fans are still hoping on him to release the said album on 16th July, 2020 as stipulated, here are four (4) reasons why Wizkid will fail his fans again.

1.No Cover Art

Don’t tell me you are falling for another Wizkid cruise. Starboy is obviously messing with us. An artist of his caliber who is signed to one of the major record labels in the world can’t just wake up and drop an album without sharing his cover art days or even weeks ahead.

2. No Tracklist

Just as in the first point, Wizzy is about to do us ‘Ojoro’. Yes! he shared some names on his IG story and so what? Is that how tracklists are shared? Obviously Wizkid “Made in Lagos” is not dropping on July 16th. We need something tangible. A cover art and a tracklist could have told a different story.

3. No Interviews or Media Hype

You can’t be dropping an album without some form of hype. Even bigger acts throw some hype around their albums aside the ones their fans provide to ensure they reach a wider audience to enable them recover the invested funds. This is another valid reason why Wizkid “Made in Lagos” isn’t hitting us soon.

4. No social media presence

Is Wizkid really dropping an album this month and he’s not online as often as he should? Or Am I the only who thinks it is only right to remind your fans they are about to get another baby from you? I don’t think I am the only one who thinks Wizkid is just about to do us another ‘Ojoro’. Wait! Am I?
