After the fallout between two of Nigeria’s biggest music giant, Don Jazzy and D’Banj, they both went separate ways. The latter formed DB Records, and the former, went on creating a dynasty known as Mavin Records. We have compiled a list of all Mavin records artistes.
Mavin Records, or Mavin Music Records, is one of Africa’s leading music label with lots of promising and talented artistes signed to it.
Owned by Don Jazzy, it was created on May 8, 2012 after he went separate ways from his former partner and colleague, D’Banj. Here is a comprehensive list of all artistes signed under Mavin Records.

1. Don Jazzy
Don Jazzy needs no introduction to many of us. He is the fonder of Mavin Records. He is a producer, singer, songwriter and entrepreneur.
Michael Collins Ajereh started his musical career at a very tender age while mastering a lots of instrument in the church. He gained nationwide recognition in 2004 in the days of Mo’Hits Records.
2. Dr. Sid
Sidney Esiri is/was a medical doctor born to late Nollywood star, Justice Esiri. In 2007, having had a taste of the entertainment industry, he made the life changing decision of leaving his profession, Dentistry, behind and pursuing a career in the music industry.
Dr Sid was part of the defunct Mo’Hits Records. Today, he is one major player in the history of Afropop in Nigeria. 2008 was his big break with hit songs like “Something About You” and “Pop Something”.
Although he owns his own record label, Jonzing World, he is still a signee under Mavin Records. He is the younger brother of Don Jazzy. He was also part of the Mo’Hits Records.
He started music after his secondary school days and was on one of Mp’Hits hit song, Booty Call. He has hits single such as “Take Banana”, “Who Am I”, and a host of others.
In 2019, D’Prince started his talent hunt which landed him the artist we now know today as Rema.
4. Korede Bello
Korede Bello was introduced to Nigerians in the early 2010s. In 2015, he gained Nationwide recognition with the release of his song, “Godwin”. The song further pushed him and was one of the biggest in 2015. He also won a couple awards with it, including the Best Pop Single at the 2015 Headies.
He released his debut album in 2017 and since then has amassed a lot of fans and followers within Africa and beyond. Korede is also known for giving back to the society while advocating for social issues like mental health.
5. DJ Big N
DJ Big N is the official disc jockey of the Mavin Record label. He is known for his ‘larger than life’ persona.
Di’Ja was born to a Sierra Leonean father by a Nigerian mother as Hadiza Bell. Her music career kicked off in 2008. She caught the attention of Don Jazzy after a couple of years and few singles and was signed in 2014.
She had lived in Sierra Leone, Canada, Nigeria and United States of America and these places and their culture helped her music career.
Johnny Drille is a singer/songwriter and also one of the label’s producers. He was a contestant of the 3rd season of the music competition, Project Fame.
He is one of the few artists in Nigeria that frontline alternative rock and folk music. His remarkable music has bagged his several awards which includes “Best Alternative Song” nod for “Finding Efe” at the 2019 Headies.
Born Ladipo Eso and formerly known as P.O.E, Ladipoe is described as a soft-spoken and eloquent rapper who started his rapping career in his secondary school days. He is a graduate of Chemistry and Biology at the University of North Carolina, USA.
He got signed to Mavin Music in 2017 after a legal battle with his former record label. His signing made records by becoming the label’s first rapper.
This set of fraternal twins, Blair and Clint, stormed the music scene and won the “Best Upcoming Teen Artiste Award” in 2013.
They also competed for talent shows like X-Factor and The Voice Nigeria. They were signed to Mavin Records on February 28, 2017.
The world was introduced to this fast rising prodigy in 2019 with hits like “Iron Man” and “Dumebi”. Rema’s debut EP defines a new era in the Nigerian pop genre with a distinctive voice and rare mix of Afrobeats.
The 19 year old Edo State indegene has gotten global recognition as far as once making former United State President, Barack Obama’s music playlist.
Crayon is one of most promising Afrobeats act in Nigeria. He started making music in the remote city of Iba, a suburb of Lagos state. His role models are Fela and Wizkid on on the international scene, Drake, Bryson Tiller and Justin Bieber.
Altims is sometimes known as DJ Altims. He is a DJ and also another music producer in the label responsible for making massive hits.
Altims is best known for his huge Afrobeat tracks and his expertly crafted DJ mixes. He was discovered and signed by Don Jazzy after he remixed D’Price’s “Take Banana” in 2012 while he was still studying Computer Science.
13. Baby Fresh
Baby Fresh is one of the major songwriters of the label. He is also on the list of producers for the label. He is an engineer who is responsible for some of Afrobeats’s most popular hits.
He has worked with numerous artists in the industry. He also has his own label, Blowtime Entertainment, which is under Mavin Record. He mentors several younger producers which includes Crayon.
14. Ayra Starr
Though has been under Mavin records for a year, Donjazzy announced the signing of the young female artist on 22nd January 2021. She followed the announcement with a self-named debut EP of five songs.
Loudda played a major role in Ayra Starr’s new project. He is talented music producer and sound engineer. He has also been with Mavin Records for sometime now.
