Burna Boy Makes History. Becomes The First Nigerian To Win An Edison Award

Two times Grammy nominated Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has made a new history on becoming the first Nigerian to bag an Edison Award.

The Afrobeats singer who recently got his second Grammy nomination for the 2021 Grammy Awards was nominated for this year’s Edison Awards.

Burna Boy’s “African Giant” was nominated for the ‘Best World Album‘ category at the recently concluded Edison Awards and was crown the winner in that category.

This makes him the first Nigerian to ever win an Edison Award and the third African, since Youssou N’Dour and Angélique Kidjo won the first and second in 1994 and 2018 respectively.
