CKay Defeats Burna Boy To Break An All-Time African Record On Spotify

Nigerian Singer Ckay breaks the All-Time African records set by Grammy award-winning Afrobeat Artist Burna Boy.

The young musician, Chukwuka Ekeani who is best known as CKay joined Warner Music sometime last year. Ckay who started off as a music producer before switching to being a performing artist has now amassed the highest number of Spotify monthly listeners in Africa.

Before now, the record was held by multiple award-winning Afrobeat act Burna Boy who had a monthly listener peak of  15.151 million on the digital streaming platform. 

As of today, CKay holds that record as the First and only African artist to reach 17 million monthly streams on Spotify. He has over 17.3 million monthly listeners on the platform.
