Our Split Paved Way For Other Artists To Become Stars – PSquare
Nigerian music duo, PSquare have claimed that their split helped other Nigerian artists to become known.
Paul and Peter Okoye of PSquare made this claim in a recent episode of The 77 Podcast, where they discussed their music career and split.
According to them, if it wasn’t for their separation, Afrobeats artists making wave now might not have been in the spotlight.
They stated that they dominated the Nigerian and African music scene for nearly 14 years until they briefly disbanded in 2016, which paved the way for others to shine.
Paul said, ‘Let me tell you something, I’ve been hearing that. Even if they put it that way, it means some way God has his own way. If we were there [together in the music industry] those people [dominant music stars] there would have never been light for them. And don’t forget, we’ve dominated the [Nigerian] music industry for a long time. We held it down for nearly 13,14 years’.
