The Legendary “Sco Pa Tu Manaa” Craze Goes Abroad
“Sco pa tu manaa”? The Ghanaian term which literally translates into “what experience does this remind you of”?
This started as a casual phrase, just like O jewa Ke Eng which came first, but this one has lasted a lot longer and seems to have more impact than the former. It was first used by the Ghanaian musician Patapaa in a song, it became a trend on Twitter and as some tweeps have said, it has lasted more than some Nigerian relationships. Funny isn’t it? It has lasted this long, and just as people started complaining about its staying power, boom! it takes a flight out of the continent and goes international. Guess who sco pa tu manaa’d today?
Athetico Madrid Football Club. Apparently, they did this as a means of giving their fans and supporters the opportunity to relive their favorite match moments and share them with other fans.
Let’s take a guess at how much longer this trend will last. Fingers crossed.
